The modern ballistic helmet is a centralized platform meant to support a wide range of heavy tactical gear. However, without an advanced interior suspension system, even the strongest helmet shell becomes a functional liability. A rigid shell lacking internal energy dispersion will transfer blast forces and the kinetic impact of a bullet directly to the skull, causing severe and often irreversible injuries like traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Ops-Core padding ecosystems are engineered specifically to solve this problem. They are designed to manage blunt-force trauma, rotational acceleration, and physical neck strain caused by wearing heavy head-mounted accessories, such as Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) and communication headsets

Ops-Core Padding | Where is it Used?

Ops-Core padding is trusted by elite law enforcement SWAT teams, special operations forces, and conventional military personnel. Because of its precisely calculated polymer chemistry, the padding is deployed across highly diverse and extreme environmental theaters:

  • High-Altitude Operations: The Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) foam is highly engineered to remain unaffected by altitude changes. This makes it crucial for High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) and High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) airborne jumps, where lower foams might shrink or freeze.
  • Maritime and Jungle Theaters: Ops-Core has closed-cell Low-Density Viscoelastic (LDV) foams that create an impenetrable barrier against liquid moisture. This prevents the helmet from acting like a sponge during torrential rainstorms, river crossings, or submerged operations. Additionally, components like Polinazell 20 foam resist chemical breakdown and rotting in highly humid, tropical conditions.
  • Arid and Desert Climates: Vented liner configurations increase airflow across the scalp, creating a cooling effect. The outermost comfort pads are wrapped in breathable, moisture-wicking textiles that actively pull sweat away from the skin, preventing heat exhaustion and loss of focus in hot zones.

Ops-Core Padding | Why Operators Rely on it

Procuring advanced helmet padding is an absolute tactical imperative to preserve an operator's safety and focus. Here is why these systems are widely used in the field:

  • Stopping Back-Face Deformation: When a bullet strikes a helmet, the bullet's kinetic energy causes the interior wall to bulge inward toward the skull at high speed. Ops-Core EPP impact liners crush at a controlled rate to absorb this energy, preventing localized skull fractures and severe concussions.
  • Multi-Hit Protection: Unlike traditional foams that shatter or permanently compress after a single impact, Ops-Core EPP foam has viscoelastic memory. It recovers its original shape after absorbing a kinetic strike, offering vital protection during prolonged firefights or multiple concussive blasts.
  • Eliminating the Cantilever Effect: Heavy gear mounted on the front brow pulls the helmet down over the user's eyes, forcing the neck muscles to constantly strain. Padding systems and accessories, such as the Universal Nape Pad, securely anchor the helmet to the base of the skull, evenly distributing weight and eliminating severe neck fatigue.
  • Passive Aiming Stability: When an operator sprints or fast-ropes, the momentum of front-heavy gear causes a poorly padded helmet to bounce or "seesaw". Ops-Core pads perfectly conform to the operator's head, locking the helmet completely still. This absolute stability is mandatory so operators can align their night vision goggles directly behind their weapon-mounted optics without losing sight of their target.

Weighing under 66 grams, the LX9 is an ultra-lightweight, drop-in upgrade for modern combat helmets. It meets strict AR/PD 10-02 military impact standards and features a removable center channel to fit thick communication headset bands without causing pressure headaches.

Universal Nape Pad

Adding dual-tube NVGs or ballistic face shields pulls your helmet forward, straining your neck. The Universal Nape Pad anchors the helmet to the base of your skull, distributing the weight evenly and completely eliminating helmet shifting without the need to overtighten your chinstrap.

ACH 360° Liner Kit

This kit brings modern Mil-Spec impact protection to standard MICH and ACH legacy helmet cuts. It features Polyether foam that resists water breakdown and includes multi-thickness pad options for a custom fit.
