Spuhr 2007B HRT Aimpoint Mount - FAQs

What does HRT mean?

HRT stands for Hostage Rescue Team. It refers to the elite tactical unit within the FBI that originally requested and selected this heavy-duty mount for their red dot sights.

What optics are compatible with the Spuhr 2007B HRT mount?

This mount features the standard Aimpoint Micro footprint. It fits Aimpoint Micro T-1, T-2, H-1, H-2, and CompM5 sights, plus compatible red dot clones that use the Micro pattern.

What does a 1.653" lower 1/3 co-witness mean?

The 1.653-inch optical height places your optic high enough so that backup iron sights sit in the lower third of your sight picture. This keeps your main field of view clear while letting you use your iron sights through the window if needed.

How does this optic mount attach to my rifle rail?

The mount clamps directly to any standard MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny or STANAG NATO rail using two Tx20 Torx fasteners. This dual-screw setup distributes clamping pressure evenly to keep your zero locked during heavy recoil.

What are the side interfaces on the non-clamping side for?

Spuhr integrates built-in accessory mounting interfaces on the non-clamping side. These allow you to attach auxiliary hardware or specialized mounting brackets directly to the optic mount, saving space on your handguard.

Why did the FBI HRT select this mount?

The FBI Hostage Rescue Team chose this mount because of its extreme durability and reliable lockup. It withstands hard operational use without shifting position or stripping under load.
