Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus - The SOS Satellite Communicator for Off-Grid Voice, Photo, and Text Messaging

• The Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus is a compact, off-grid SOS satellite communicator designed for operations beyond traditional cellular coverage. Built to rigorous MIL-STD-810 standards, this rugged device delivers critical two-way voice, photo, and text messaging through the global Iridium satellite network. It serves as a mandatory lifeline and navigation tool for remote deployments and extreme wilderness environments.
• Operate up to 350 Hours on a Single Charge: The internal lithium-ion battery provides extended longevity in standard 10-minute inReach tracking mode. When mission requirements demand constant communication, the performance messaging mode still delivers up to 95 hours of continuous power. You can rely on this power supply during multi-day expeditions without needing immediate access to a charger.
• Survive Extreme Conditions with MIL-STD-810 and IP67 Ratings: The chemically strengthened glass display and rugged housing are tested to resist severe thermal extremes, high-impact shocks, and heavy water exposure. You can take this bare unit into harsh weather and across aggressive terrain without risking your primary communication link.
• Transmit 30-Second Voice Memos and 1,600-Character Texts Off-Grid: The built-in speaker and microphone allow you to record and send clear audio updates from anywhere in the world. You can also draft detailed sitreps up to 1,600 characters directly on the device touchscreen, or pair a smartphone to share critical photos of your operational environment.

• Trigger Instant Emergency Support with 24/7 Interactive SOS: Activating the SOS function instantly transmits your exact GPS coordinates to the fully staffed Garmin Response center. This establishes a direct, interactive line of communication with an international coordination team to organize rapid emergency extraction.

Can I trigger an SOS even if the device is turned off?

Yes. If you hold down the SOS button for about 5 seconds, the device will force itself to power on and send an emergency request if it has a satellite connection.

The best place is clipped to the outside, upper part of your backpack. Make sure the antenna is pointing up and has a clear view of the sky for the strongest signal.
