The mechanical interface between a thermal device, the weapon platform, and the human operator constitutes the most critical variable in modern night operations. The iRay mounting ecosystem leverages aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, treated with Type 3 hardcoat anodizing, to ensure survival in the most austere environments.

Thermal-optic accessories must account for the significant, continuous power drain required to capture long-wave infrared radiation and process thermal gradients. We offer two primary approaches to addressing the thermal power deficit: proprietary hot-swappable iRay battery packs for extreme weather conditions, and modular battery extenders for standard commercial chemistries.

To overcome the visual compression and lack of stereoscopic depth perception inherent to thermal imaging, accurate firing solutions require external mathematical data. The integration of InfiRay Laser Rangefinder (LRF) modules eliminates human guesswork by merging target detection with precise distance-to-target data.

  • The ILR-1000 module attaches via a quick-disconnect Picatinny mount and provides heads-up display integration via a Type-C plug data tether.
  • The ILR-1000 for HYBRID transcends simple range estimation by feeding distance data directly into the host optic's onboard ballistic solver.

What is the PICTAIL mount, and why do I need it?

The PICTAIL system lets you transfer your thermal optic from a helmet to a rifle without special tools. Its main purpose is to provide you with a single mounting part that works for both setups. This saves you time and hassle when you are out in the field.

When should I use a Flip-to-Side mount?

Sometimes you might want to use your normal daytime scope rather than the thermal sight. The Flip-to-Side mount lets you quickly push the thermal scope out of your way in an instant. You do not have to take the thermal scope off the gun and put it in a pouch.

Why do some batteries have a "cam-lock" feature?

When it is very cold outside, your fingers can get stiff, and traditional battery caps can get stuck. The cam-lock feature on the IBP-1 battery lets you quickly and safely snap in a fresh battery with simple hand movements. It is made to work easily even when you are stressed or in a rush.

How do battery extenders work?

Thermal scopes consume a lot of battery power to produce a high-quality image. Battery extenders are small metal parts that screw onto your scope to enlarge the battery compartment. They let you use standard, readily available batteries. This can give you hours of extra power so your scope stays on longer during the night.

What does a Laser Rangefinder (LRF) do?

Looking through a thermal scope can make it very hard to tell exactly how far away a target is. A Laser Rangefinder fixes this by measuring the exact distance to your target. This completely eliminates the need to guess the distance, helping you aim much better.

Why should I choose a wireless rangefinder?

Cables and wires can easily get caught on branches or gear when you are in the woods. Also, the strong kick of a gun firing can damage plugged-in wires over time. A wireless rangefinder uses Bluetooth to send distance readings directly to your scope's screen. This keeps your gun clean, safe from snags, and free of messy wires.
