Streamlight weapon lights are designed to provide illumination in low-light or dark conditions, enhancing the user's ability to identify targets and maintain visibility. They are available in various types, including TLR lights, shotgun lights, and pistol lights, among others, making them compatible with a wide range of weapons.
The effectiveness of a weapon light can be measured in terms of lumens and candela. Lumens refer to the total amount of visible light emitted by the source, indicating the brightness of the light. On the other hand, candela measures the intensity of the light in a particular direction, which tells us how far the light can travel
Choosing the right Streamlight weapon light involves considering the type of weapon you have and your specific lighting needs. Their website provides a TLR Fit Guide that can help users select the most suitable weapon-mounted light for their gun
In addition to providing illumination, weapon lights also offer tactical advantages. They can disorient potential threats, provide a visual deterrent, and increase the accuracy of aim, especially in high-stress situations where visibility may be compromised
It's important to note that the use of weapon lights requires proper training and careful handling to ensure safety and effectiveness. This includes understanding how to mount the light onto your weapon and how to use it properly in various scenarios
Installing and using Streamlight weapon lights is generally a straightforward process. While the exact steps can vary depending on the specific model, here's a general guide on how to install and use them:
Ensure Safety: Before you start the installation, ensure that your weapon is unloaded and safe to handle.
Mounting the Light: Locate the rail system on your weapon. This could be a Picatinny or Weaver style rail. The Streamlight weapon light should come with an integrated mount that clamps onto this rail. You slide the weapon light onto the rail and tighten the clamp. Some models may require an Allen wrench for this step, while others have a built-in screw.
Positioning: Position the light so that it does not interfere with the normal operation of your weapon. Also, make sure you can easily access the light's controls when holding the weapon in a firing position.
Securing the Light: Once the light is in the correct position, secure it by tightening the clamp. Make sure it's tight enough so that the light won't move during recoil.
Turning On the Light: Most Streamlight weapon lights are operated by a switch located on the back of the light housing. This can usually be toggled with your trigger finger or thumb, depending on how you've mounted the light.
Switching Modes: Some Streamlight models offer different modes, such as strobe or varying intensity levels. These are usually controlled by multiple presses of the switch or a separate mode button.
Battery Replacement: When the light starts to dim or flicker, it's time to replace the batteries. This usually involves unscrewing a cap on the light housing, replacing the old batteries with new ones, and then screwing the cap back on.
Remember to always refer to the user manual specific to your model for detailed instructions. If you encounter any issues during installation or use, contact Streamlight's customer service for assistance.
Please note that improperly installed accessories can potentially affect the operation and safety of your weapon. If you are unsure about any aspect of the installation or use of your Streamlight weapon light, please consult with a professional.
Taking care of your Streamlight weapon light involves regular maintenance to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Here are some general tips:
Clean Regularly: After each use, especially in harsh conditions, clean the exterior of the light with a soft cloth to remove any dust, dirt, or debris. This helps prevent scratches and keeps the light in good condition.
Lens Care: Be sure to clean the lens regularly as well. Use a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth to gently wipe away any smudges or dirt. Avoid using abrasive materials as they can scratch the lens.
Battery Maintenance: Replace the batteries as needed. If you notice a decrease in light output or the light starts to flicker, it's probably time to replace the batteries. Always replace all batteries at the same time and avoid mixing old and new batteries. Also, if you're not going to use the light for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent potential leakage or corrosion.
Check the Mount: Regularly check the mount to ensure it's still secure. Over time, recoil from firing your weapon can cause the mount to loosen. If it's loose, tighten it back up.
Avoid Water Damage: While many Streamlight weapon lights are rated for water resistance, it's still a good idea to avoid unnecessary exposure to water. If your light does get wet, remove the batteries and let it dry completely before using it again.
Store Properly: When not in use, store your weapon light in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
Regular Inspection: Check your weapon light regularly for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice anything unusual, contact Streamlight customer service for advice.
Remember, always refer to the specific maintenance instructions provided by Streamlight for your particular model. Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your weapon light and ensure it's ready when you need it.
When purchasing Streamlight weapon lights, several factors should be considered. These include the type of weapon you're mounting the light on, the brightness you need, the light's durability, and your budget.
Weapon Type: The first step is to determine what type of firearm you plan to mount the light on. Streamlight offers a TLR Fit Guide on their website that can help you find compatible weapon-mounted lights for your specific gun.
Brightness: Consider the lumens (brightness) and candela (beam intensity) of the light. Lumens refer to the total amount of visible light emitted, while candela measures the brightest point in the beam. Depending on your needs, you might want a light with high lumens for maximum brightness, or high candela for a more focused beam.
Durability: Another crucial factor is durability. Streamlight weapon lights are known for their robust construction, which can withstand the recoil of firing and harsh environmental conditions. Check the light's IPX rating for water and dust resistance.
Features: Some Streamlight lights offer multiple modes, such as strobe or varying intensity levels. Decide if these features are important to you. Also consider the type of switch on the light and whether it's easily accessible when holding your weapon.
Budget: Finally, consider your budget. Streamlight offers a range of weapon lights at various price points, so you should be able to find one that suits your needs and budget.
Remember, the best weapon light for you depends on your specific needs and preferences. Always refer to product specifications and reviews before making a purchase.
The Streamlight TLR-1 appears to be highly versatile and popular among users. This light fits a variety of handguns with rails. It's also compatible with Glock-style rails and both Picatinny and Beretta 90two rails, making it adaptable for different firearms.
Another versatile option is the Streamlight TLR-7. It's compact yet powerful, with high output and peak candela, making it suitable for a range of applications.
The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 2 is a solid light for a low price.
Meanwhile, the Streamlight TLR-1 is recommended as a more budget-friendly pistol light by GunPros. It's essentially the same as the Streamlight TLR-2 but without a laser, making it a more cost-effective choice if you don't require that feature.
Another affordable option mentioned is the Streamlight TLR RM1, particularly for smaller pistol-style AR15s according to Tier Three Tactical.
Based on the search results, the Streamlight ProTac HL 4 and the Streamlight Stinger 2020 appear to be among the brightest Streamlight weapon lights.
The Streamlight ProTac HL 4 is a dual fuel rechargeable flashlight that offers 2200 lumens of light. This handheld flashlight is designed with a “Sure grip” sleeve and includes a lanyard.
The Streamlight Stinger 2020 provides up to 2000 lumens in high mode. It runs on two SL-B26 batteries with integrated micro USB charging ports.
Another bright option is the Streamlight TLR-2 HL G, a tactical light with a green aiming laser. It offers 1,000 lumens and has a 1.5-hour run time in light/laser mode.
It's important to note that while brightness is a key factor, you should also consider other factors such as beam distance, run time, and specific features like lasers when choosing a weapon light. Always ensure the light is compatible with your specific firearm.
Based on the search results, the Streamlight weapon light with the longest battery life seems to be a bit subjective, as it depends on the mode of operation being used. However, one notable option is the Streamlight TLR-1 HL which has a run time of 1.5 hours at its highest setting of 1000 lumens.
Something to note is that some lights have a low mode that can last up to 10 hours off of one CR123 battery. While this isn't specific to a Streamlight product, it's worth noting that many of Streamlight's lights, including the TLR-1 HL, have multiple modes of operation which can extend battery life if used in lower output modes.
Also, it's important to mention that lithium batteries (non-rechargeable), which are commonly used in Streamlight's weapon lights, have a shelf life of 20-25 years. This long shelf life can be beneficial for lights that are not used frequently.
Ultimately, the battery life will depend on the specific model and how the light is used. Be sure to consider your specific needs and how often you'll be using the light when making your selection.

This is a solid concept and well built. My 7yr old is fine with the extra weight and likes the backpack deign. My only feedback would be to have the plate in a more heavy duty pocket so it doesn't move around so easily when child is in motion/running
Worked great & a great buy. A little pricey, but worth the money. I didn’t miss a beat while firing or working the range, and I got a lot of compliments too.
Great buy, worked great and got a lot of compliments on them.
Worked great while on the range while firing and while working on the range, didn’t miss a single word or order put out around me.
Fast delivery. Definitely worth the upgrade from my Sordins. Even got a free coffee cup!
So far the light is great. Brighter than a few arisakas and surefire I have. At first I was iffy about not having a pressure pad, but found out it is easy to manipulate while using my normal grip. I like how the switch is easy to turn on while using minimal pressure. So far so good, seems like a solid light. I'll be testing this weekend to see how it will hold up. I have a 12.5 308 that I have it on, and ready to see how it will withstand.
Product was as described. Appears to be good quality. Fast shipping. Highly recommend!
The fit and prompt service were spot on
I reviewed several videos from outside sources on this helmet and was impressed by how well it stood up to the ballistic testing. Also the fit and finish was good.Hopefully I’ll never have to use this for defensive purposes.
Perfect fit....Great padding better than my other 2 helmets....love the super high cut and the BOA system..
Found the carrier I was looking for in stock. Shipping was fast.
Delivered on time. It was as described - but way heavier and thicker than I imagined. Have to get a bigger backpack in order for it to fit with books, ect...
The box when arrived was shredded - super surprised it was delivered - but it made it.
Very fast shipping on atomic defenses part and excellent service
Good gear, fast and as advertised.
On a full time team I **** wearing glasses under ear pro so I ditched the eye pro until I got these. Came right on time and atomic defense was more then helpful in getting this package to me.
